Phiang Aldrich obtained her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames, Iowa, and her law degree from Washburn School of Law (Washburn) in Topeka, Kansas in 1999. While attending Washburn, she interned with the United States Attorney's Office and was a juvenile and Child in Need of Care prosecutor intern with the Lyon County Prosecutor's Office. After passing the Kansas bar, she worked as a domestic violence prosecutor in Kansas City, Kansas, prosecuting domestic violence and related crimes. She also handled misdemeanor crimes and traffic violations for approximately three years before her new husband's schooling and military obligations took them on a journey to six more states before landing here in this great state of Texas in 2012.
After leaving Texas, Phiang served as a staff attorney with the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board where she worked alongside state partners to eradicate domestic and sexual violence within the state of Michigan for approximately three years. While in Missouri, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, she started her first law firm where she focused on family law, and served as a guardian ad litem and/or a CASA volunteer for children and families in need of care. After a year of private practice, she was asked to join Legal Services of Southern Missouri team, where she provided legal services to the low-income and the elderly in the areas of domestic/sexual violence, family, consumer, housing, public benefits and elder law.
After two years in Missouri, her husband received a new duty station that took them to Fort Benning, GA, for ten months, prior to moving here to Texas with our three children.
Phiang Aldrich is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Texas. She is licensed but inactive in the state of Missouri, and has resigned from her Kansas and Colorado bar membership. Phiang was a former president of the Comal County Bar Association and current member of the Texas State Bar, Comal County Bar, and Hays County Bar.
